Safeway Jobs Require Customer Service |

| Have you considered having a Safeway Job? A good rule of
thumb for service related jobs is to enter the place of
business and assess the culture within the location. What
are the customer service levels? Do the employees appear to
be happy there? Is there appropriate interaction between the
customers and the employees? These questions are important in assessing and discerning whether or not you want to work for a particular company or not. There are many industries that by their nature are open for public view. For instance, restaurants, grocery and retail stores are all examples of businesses that one can gather a clear perspective on the job attributes. If one enters a Safeway, immediately it can be drawn that store relies heavily on customer service. Checkers greet you with a smile, while courtesy clerks are vigilant about making sure you have found everything you need. It is also not uncommon for a manager to help you to your car with your groceries. Service levels are a must for Safeway. Such service levels are strict company policy as Safeway has attempted to differentiate itself by offering higher customer service levels than their competitors. In return a larger margin can be gained on many items throughout the store. That is business, as most customers know they can save a few bucks by going to their nearest bulk food warehouse, but they will lose the peace of mind that a company like Safeway provides. A Safeway Job is a great job, however anyone pursuing such a job should consider the amount of interaction that is required with customers and whether or not this suits them. |
