If you still receive local TV by an over the air antenna, theirs bad news, your TV will go dark on February 17, 2009. That date will be here before you know it. Now is the time to take action and stay ahead so you won't be left behind.

Digital TV (DTV) is a newer form of technology used for sending television broadcasts to your home. It is more flexible and efficient than analog television. It allows a much clear picture, better sound quality and more channels. DTV allows each local station to offer up to five or six separate programs free of cost. Nearly all PBS stations are multi casting as we speak.

Right now, stations are simulating the DTV signal along with the analog signal you are watching. However, on February 17, 2009 all stations across the Nation will cease to transmit their analog signal. This means on that date if you haven't purchased a newer set, or installed a set top converter, you will be left in the dark. Your set will look like it has no antenna on it at all.

The Government is offering a program the provides each applying household two $40 coupons towards the purchase of converter boxes. You can apply online at: DTV answers.com or call toll free at:1-(800)-DTV-2009.

The cost of these set top converters retails for $50 and up. However, you can find really good bargains on these Digital converter boxes online.

Make no mistake! Broadcast Television is going to change February 17, 2009. Take action now so you can relax and keep enjoying your favorite programs
