Software Downloads Can Bring Spyware! |

| If you frequent the Internet, then you are probably already
familiar with pop-up advertisements and the numerous kinds
of free stuff they offer, such as software, games and mostly
porn. Though a few of them may be legitimately free, a
majority of the pop-ups you encounter contain the very
malicious spyware. Spyware will invade your computer and reproduce repeatedly to steal your most vital information, such as credit card information and bank account numbers. Despite being a relatively newcomer, spyware continues to grow exponentially with each passing second. People always grab the chance to get free stuff and malicious programmers are taking advantage of this to spread their harmful creations into as many computers as possible. Besides stealing your private information, spyware will also inflict enough damage on your computer to render it useless. When your computer fills up with spyware, you will eventually experience frequent slowdowns and crashes. You may also notice your Internet connection slowing down and numerous pop-up windows appearing out of nowhere. If you really want to get games or software for free, you must be extremely careful with the websites you visit. Definitely avoid pop-up advertisements like the plague. Once you zoom in on a specific program or website, look for signs if it does not contain spyware, or else it might be too late once you find out that the website you checked out contained spyware. You need to use your better judgment when it comes to identifying which ad is legit. Doing a comprehensive background check on the company that offers the free item will always help. Still, spyware can also invade your hard disk through emails, so be careful with that as well. Make sure you have anti-spyware programs installed on your computer if you are really curious to see what the email or attachment is all about. |
